The purpose of a web-site is to communicate your message quickly and clearly. Also, the goal is to make the whole process as lax and hassle-free as the registration process of pokerstars poker and other similar websites.
Having said this, a web-site can be a great help for those who want to improve their communication objectives.
What serious users really want are:
Ease of use/navigation
Fast download time
Regularly updated information
Quality of content
What serious users don't like are:
Confusing or complex sites
Waiting a long time
Animated graphics
'Fun' items
For this reason we avoid
Unnecessary graphics such as animated pictures
Video-clips
Multi-coloured text and background
‘Plug-ins’, which not everybody has
Any other feature which can take time to load and
which may obscure your message
We recommend using mainly black text on a white background for ease of legibility
